Boys Varsity: Hillsdale won the meet with 211 points, 2nd was Lutheran West with 89.3 points, 3rd was Warren Michigan Collegiate with 49 points, and Gabriel Richard came in 10th with 23 points.
The 4×800 relay came in 2nd place with Nick Hammond, Luke Geierman, Donovan Wheeler, and Andrew Holten.
Daniel Sutherland threw his season best shot put with a throw of 36.5 which placed him at 10th out of 32 throwers.
Tim Augustyniak had one of his best throws at an invitational this season with a throw of 103.2 feet which placed him 8th out of 31 throwers.
Ryan Champagne threw great for discus as well. He threw 93 feet which landed him 14th out of 31 throwers.
In the 800 meter run Luke Geierman
Kyle Racho came in 17th place in the 100 meter
Steven Augustyniak came in 12th place in the 400 meter
Luke Geierman came in 2nd in the 800 meter run
Andrew Holten came in 12th place in the 1600 meter run
Freshman Austin Albertson came in 14th place in the 3200 meter run
4×100 relay team came in 7th (Steven Augustyniak, Yuri Alonte, Kyle Racho, and Brett Rice)
4×200 came in 7th place as well (Luke Geierman, Kyle Racho, Donovan Wheeler, and Yuri Alonte)
Girls Varsity: 1st place was Hillsdale with 98 points, 2nd place was Lutheran Westland with 87.5 points, Birmingham Roeper with 74 points, and Gabriel Richard came in 10th with 30 points.
Leading the was was Sophomore Katie Ritchie coming in 4th in the 100 meters, she also came in 10th in the 200 meters, and helped the 4×100 relay come in 2nd (Hannah Vogel, Logan Cook, Sarah Mohr).
The girls also came in 6th in the 4×200 relay
5th in the 4×800 relay (Michelina Partipilo, Elizabeth Hanoian, Patti Ritchie, and Mary Sirois)
Long Jump Hannah Vogel came in 10th place
Senior Kelly Gilson had a great day throwing the shot and the disc. She came in 2nd place for shot put and 11th place for the discus.
Also helping the GR throwers was Senior Mikayla Jarrett with a shot put throw placing her in the top half of the throwers.
“Gabriel Richard as a team, has been improving every meet. We are looking to have a strong showing in our upcoming meets.” Coach Madero said. “Our team chemistry has been picking up tremendously, we are finally starting to gel as a unit. All we need to do is continue to get better and keep this team attitude going.” Coach Madero added.
