Divine Child and Riverview Gabriel Richard opened the Catholic League AA Division tennis season on Tuesday at Park Colony in Allen Park. Both teams came out swinging well and quickly lived up to high expectations for the season.

The visiting Falcons scored an impressive 5-3 win over the Pioneers, who were missing No. 1 singles player Will Gajda who was out with the flu.

“It was some great competitive tennis with two strong teams,” said Richard Coach Kristy Cameron. “It was a very close match with two three-set matches (three singles, one doubles).”
