On Saturday, September 16, at the Holly Duane Raffin Invitational, for the boys, Caro came in 1st with 48 points. 2nd was Hanover Horton (57), followed by Saugatuck (88), Bronson (204) and the Riverview Gabriel Richard Cross Country boys team came in 13th out of 18 teams with 308 points.
Leading the way for Richard was Andrew Holten, coming in 14th place, with a time of 17:44. Jacob Gosen came in 63rd with a time of 19:44, followed up by Weston Pfeiffer (73rd), at 20:10; Caden Jarratt (74) at 20:12; Adam Holten (84) at 20:34; Jordan McKinney (88) at 20:37; and Joshua Tynan (101) at 21:19.
Adding more to the story than their times and places, overall, the boys beat Ann Arbor Greenhills and Grosse Point Liggett, which were teams they hadn’t beaten in the first CHSL Jamboree.
For the girls, Saugatuck came in 1st with 40 points. 2nd was Jackson Lumen Christian (52), followed by Hanover Horton (115), Breckenridge tied for 3rd (115), Wixom St Catherines (129) and finishing 9th out of 18 teams was Riverview Gabriel Richard girls at 204 points.
Leading the way for the girls was Mary Sirois, coming in 40th place, with a time of 23:23. Catherine Cole came in 46th, with a time of 23:42, followed by Lily Green (55) at 24:18; Elizabeth Hanoian (58) at 24:19; Destiny Jones (65) at 25:02; Alyssa Wladysiak (69) at 25:17; and Emily DeHaan (99) at 28:20.
Adding more to the story was the fact that the girls team continued to get better, with 4 personal records and 3 season best times.
