On Saturday, September 30, the Riverview Gabriel Richard Cross Country Boys and Girls teams ran at the Maurader Invitational at Lake Erie Metro Park. There were two divisions, named for the school colors (Royal and White) and Richard was placed into the White division. Dearborn Divine Child led the division with just 48 points, followed by Grosse Ile with 66 points and Adrian with 98 points.
The Richard boys came in 7th out of 11 teams with 181 points. Andrew Holten led the way for Richard, coming in 11th place, with a time of 17:39. Andrew was followed by Jacob Gosen, who came in 39th place with 19:06, followed by Adam Holten (40) 19:13, Weston Pfeiffer (45) at 19:28, Caden Jarratt (46) at 19:29, Sean Clancy (48) at 19:34 and Jordan McKinney (49) at 19:36. Josh Tynan and Will Frederick ran JV and came in 137 and 147, with times of 21:14 and 21:27.
Worth mentioning was that Jacob Gosen, Adam Holten, Caden Jarratt, Jordan Mckinney, Weston Pfeiffer and Will Frederick all set new Personal Records, as the team closed the gap between its first and fifth runners.
For the girls, Dearborn Divine Child led the division with just 27 points. Grosse Ile finished in 2nd place with 49 points, followed by Milan with 71 points. Without their top 3 girls, Riverview Gabriel Richard finished 8th out of 8 teams with 209 points.
Leading the way for the girls was Elizabeth Hanoian, in 34th place at 24:19, followed by Olivia Magiera (42) at 23:56, Destiny Jones (46) at 24:20, Emily DeHaan (54) at 25:17 and Sydney Balan (62) at 28:48.
Overall, the Richard girls team once again continued to get better, with every girl setting a new personal record.
