On Saturday, October 21, the Riverview Gabriel Richard Cross Country team ran at the Catholic High School League Championship meet at Kensington Metropark.in Milford. In the Varsity boys D3/ D4 division, Madison Heights Bishop Foley led the way with 43 points, Riverview Gabriel Richard was the runner up with 45 points and were followed by Allen Park Cabrini (69) Marine City Cardinal Mooney (98) and Royal Oak Shrine (115).
Andrew Holten led the way for Richard, coming in 3rd place, with a time of 18:00.6. and was followed by Jacob Gosen (11th place, 19:16.7), Liam Jakovac (12th place, 19:28.2), Weston Pfeiffer (13th place, 19:52.3), Sean Clancy (14th place, 19:53.6), Jordan Mckinney (16th place, 20:21.1) and Adam Holten (22nd place, 21:14.3). In the top fifteen and earning All Catholic awards were Andrew Holten, Jacob Gosen, Liam Jakovac, Weston Pfeiffer and Sean Clancy. By finishing in 16th place Jordan Mckinney earned an All League award.
In the JV race Caden Jarratt came in 35th place with a time of 20:13.8 and was followed by Joshua Tynan (72ndplace, 21:12.9) and Will Frederick (126thplace, 22:47.3).
In the girls D3/ D4 Varsity girls race, St. Catherine took 1st place with 41 points, followed by Cabrini (94), Ladywood (101), Our Lady of the Lakes (112), Bishop Foley (146), Riverview Gabriel Richard (149), Everest Collegiate (169), Royal Oak Shrine (172), Academy of the Sacred Heart (184), and Detroit Cristo Rey (290). Without the benefit of their top 3 girls, Riverview Gabriel Richard finished 6th of 10 teams. Leading the way for the girls was Destiny Jones (21st place, 24:16.3), followed by Elizabeth Hanoian (28th place 24:39.0), Emily deHaan (34th place, 25:02.4), Olivia Magiera (38th place, 25:17.0) and Gillian Draft (43rd place, 25:46.2).
