On Saturday October 28th the Gabriel Richard Cross Country team competed at the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Region 27-D3 meet at Willow Metro Park. 
For the boys, Erie Mason finished first with 37 points. Dundee took second with 82 points and Ann Arbor Green Hills (100) placed third. Whitmore Lake (100) was fourth, followed by Ida (116), SMCC (169), Riverview Gabriel Richard (199), Allen Park Cabrini (206), Clinton (219), Blissfield (256), Adrian Madison (275), Taylor Prep (384), and Canton Prep (395).
Leading the way again for the Richard Varsity Boys team was Andrew Holten. Andrew qualified for the MHSAA State Finals Cross Country Meet by being one of the top 15 finishers in Saturday’s race. Andrew finished 14th place with a time of 17:15.2 and was followed by Jacob Gosen (18:45.5 43rd), Weston Pfeiffer (18:57.6, 46th), Caden Jarratt (18:59.9, 49th), Sean Clancy (19:18.9, 53rd), Jordan McKinney (19:20.6, 54th) and Will Frederick (21:39.6, 74th). Worth adding is that 6 of the 7 Varsity runners earned personal bests, with four sub-19 minute finishes.
In the JV race, Gabriel Richard had two finishers. Joshua Tynan had an outstanding meet, coming in 70th place, with a personal best time of 19:16.0. Josh was followed by Adam Holten (19:36.0, 80th).
For the girls, Wixom St. Catherine’s came in first with 66 points. Blissfield was the runner up, with 67 points. Dundee finished 3rd with 96 points, followed by Ida (127), Allen Park Cabrini (142), SMCC (151), Ann Arbor Greenhills (178), Ladywood (230), Whitmore Lake (250), Clinton (253), Riverview Gabriel Richard (258), Manchester (259), and Adrian Madison (265).

 

The Richard girls all ran very well, with Elizabeth Hanoian at the head of the GR pack again. Elizabeth finished 28th with a time of 22:16.2. Elizabeth was followed by Emily deHaan (23:51.8, 53rd), Destiny Jones (23:53.6, 54th), Olivia Magiera (23:55.8, 55th), Gillian Draft (25:18.9, 75th), and Sydney Balan (27:55.5, 92nd). Additionally, five of the of the 6 Richard girls achieved their Personal Best times.
